With a background in sports science and a career in pharmaceuticals, Daniel never thought he could pursue a creative path—let alone thrive in one. He believed art and design were reserved for those who attended art school, but his journey over the past few years has proven otherwise.

Discover Salma's extraordinary LFDS journey, where she shifted from a background in sustainability and politics to a designer. Initially drawn to LFDS for its flexible schedule and level of support and mentorship, Salma honed her skills in graphic design, focusing on Adobe software like Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.

Designer Development Course student Mehi has recently secured a role at Phil Allen Design (PAD) based in Brighton. It has been a pleasure to mentor Mehi and support him to step into his dream role with such an exciting landscape architecture firm.

Nestled on the East Side of London Fields, our studio is a short stroll from Broadway Market, one of East London's most vibrant and creative hubs. LFDS students can engage in personal projects, collaborate with peers and draw inspiration from the lively ambience of the area.

Meet Ally, LFDS student and the founder of et.al.home, a sustainable homeware brand turning discarded plastics into vibrant, functional homeware pieces. Ally recently launched the 'viva range,' a series of 3D printed vessels made from plastics otherwise headed for landfill.

Amir, a graduate in MSc Mechanical Engineering, redirected his career from engineering to the realm of TV and creative media productions due to a fervent interest in innovative mechanical design.

Nancy has a background in fine art and is based in the stunning Lake District. After several years of travelling and a career in teaching, she decided to upskill and pursue her interests in design by enrolling on the Designer Development Course.

After several years as a session musician, Milo joined the course to expand his creativity in the music world with a more design-focused approach. Milo saw the Designer Development Course as the perfect opportunity to explore and study different areas of design and use these skills in music and other industries.

LFDS student Joe Crane worked in the Property Technology industry for 5 years and enrolled initially on the Designer Development Course to pursue interior and architectural design. Following his recent Adobe units, he's currently enjoying learning graphic design.

Sapna is a surface textiles designer returning to creative work after 20 years out of the creative industry. She has a background working in design studios, clothes brands and freelance. Her designs have always been created by hand through embroidery and sewing. She joined LFDS to learn design software, allowing her to visualise embroidery and textiles in 2D and 3D forms.
