Student Spotlight: Salma Saade

Updated: Jun 25

Discover Salma's extraordinary LFDS journey, where she shifted from a background in sustainability and politics to a designer. Initially drawn to LFDS for its flexible schedule and level of support and mentorship, Salma honed her skills in graphic design, focusing on Adobe software like Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.

While studying with us, Salma was offered an internship at Iris and Me, where she delved into label and packaging design. This helped her land her new exciting role at Ffern, a small-batch perfume company.

We caught up with Salma to see how her studies with LFDS got her into work:

"I'm currently Creative Project Manager at a natural perfume house, Ffern. I've been working at the company for a year after almost one year studying at LFDS. Ffern is a small company, so although my job does include design work, I also run our social media, commission advertisements, and run events and workshops. My design work includes: print materials (menus, recipes, packaging); digital assets (press releases, event invitations); web (web design, including the company's artist pages)."

We love to celebrate the successes of our students. Well done, Salma!
