Student Spotlight: Morgan Ager

Updated: Jun 25

We asked Morgan about his experience in the Designer Development Course:

“My background is in web content and marketing but after working for a motorcycle gear e-commerce business for a few years I found myself craving a more creative role. After leaving I took my time to think about my next move and the new plan fell into place once I found LFDS online. The design school gave me the opportunity to explore the world of design and learn the practical skills for the latest industry standard software - for me this has been focusing on the Adobe suite as a platform. The strongest elements of LFDS has to be the flexibility to enable me to work part-time, the community of creatives that you mix with and the constant motivation from Ben.
After lots of mini practice projects I eventually had the opportunity to work on my first paid freelance project - Mumford and Sons Winston Marshall’s new ‘The Winston Marshall Show’ podcast brand identity which went well and has given me a confidence boost. 2023 was more about getting a better perspective of the broad design industry and narrowing down which area I want to focus on. For 2024, I will move into UI / UX Design and will start a course with Experience Haus in Shoreditch soon to learn Figma with the aim being to land a full-time junior UI/UX role.
LFDS has given me the skills to find a job that I enjoy more day to day and open up more options and opportunities in fast growing design industries.”
