Student Spotlight: Ria Huggins

Updated: Jun 25

Designer Development Course student Ria is studying with London Fields Design School remotely, and is based in beautiful Trinidad and Tobago. She has demonstrated great talent across many disciplines, including illustration and architecture. While studying with us, Ria won a design competition Secret7s and was also offered an interview for an assistant role with an architecture firm.

We love Ria’s ability to cross disciplines and her passion for design, despite coming into the programme with no previous experience in a creative role.

Ria now works as a freelance graphic designer while studying with LFDS.

We asked Ria how her studies with LFDS got her into work:

"The Designer Development Course has taught me to be more critical about the work I produce. Such that I've garnered more structure with respect to project development, and by having a stronger foundation in design principles I have found the design process more straightforward and fun. Having such admirable mentors who encourage me to participate in competitions has allowed me to grow my illustrative skill sets, which I am excited to indulge upon further. But for now I enjoy being a LFDS student. However, in the future it'll be grand for others to see my designs in everyday life and become inspired."

We love to celebrate the successes of our students. Well done, Ria!
